Weekend  installation (2020) *core of bells' Project

An installation developed for the solo exhibition at Fujisawa City Art Space, where the core of bells film *WEEKEND* was screened.

It consists of a thoroughly cluttered room with a solitary seated figure, both constructed from paper craft; drawings affixed to large book-like panels; and sculptural objects made with artificial flowers resembling corrupted 3D models.

The common motif among these works, rendered across multiple media, is the increase of entropy. The imagery of cluttered interiors and the indiscriminate mixing of artificial and natural objects resonates with the "tedious collapse of the world" depicted in the film.

If the collapse of the world were to occur, it would never be spectacular and instantaneous — it would unfold gradually, within the kind of tedious landscape found everywhere. This worldview is reflected in the installation.
