What kind of time is the video (and the world) filled  (2011)

________

When I was a high school student.

I got the CD which consists of only performances about 1 to 30 seconds “GuyaAAAAA!” and “BuwagyaAAAA!” .

So I had the question “how does this band perform in live”.

And I orderd their bootleg live video from Germany. But, they were only lazy with drinking.

And they played only 4 songs of such short duration in 30minutes show.  Surprisingly,in the first song,

They shouted “1.2.3.4” , threw up the instruments and, finally jumped into the crowd.

On above-mentioned description, It may be able to be thought excitingly.
Actually in almost all time, The video showed me that three drunk guys were lazy in the roar of audience.

So, it was “boring”.

But, I thought there're overwhelming affirmation and surrender to “time” .
And I consider this time is very significant.

By the way, on this video (and in the world) ,“what is music?”
Time of the songs hardly played ? or Time which the drunkard is spending indolently ?

So, it (music/ world ) is filled boredom & light violent feelings

*The band's name was "AxCx"

BIOGRAPHY

BIOGRAPHY

TAKESHI IKEDA was born in Tokyo in 1984.

He is inspired by experimental music (John Cage, Wandelweiser Group, etc.) and hardcore punk rock. These music genres prove that music is more than just sound because they stress other elements as well, such as the listening and feeling audience. Moreover, the two types of music share the characteristic that they are structured and monotonous, boring even.

Ikeda himself explores new ways to make boring compositions. Tzodom 24 (2016) for example, consists of a 24 hour loop of his performance combined with a voice-over accompanying images from the film The Exterminating Angel (Luis Buñuel, 1962), in which the artist expresses his ideas about boredom.

Boredom doesn’t have negative connotations here. Instead Ikeda considers it a significant quality of music and time. According to him, our life is not based on a series of exiting climaxes but rather on boring time. Listening to boring music invites us to think about that boring time, and learn to appreciate it more.
